A week of salsa in London

<Hi

London Salsa welcomes you to another week of dance in the capital. Whether you have just taken up salsa, a returning salsero or someone who dances many times each week, London Salsa is the bible to use to find the best entertainment.

Our site and the community only ever gets better as a result of you.  Without your reviews and feedback there is no way that it could be as nearly perfect as it is.  So thank you.

If you had your first ever lesson this week then the best advice I can give is to return for a second lesson next week.  On Strictly you hear it over and again that salsa is not an easy style to learn.  The key is to keep learning.  Start with the musicality and getting your feet moving for the basics.  Then build in the ability to style or to spin or to lead/follow.  Take the opportunity after lessons to have a social dance.  Dance with the people from your lesson and also people from the other levels.

If you want to become a better dancer it is important to learn not only from your teachers but also from those other dancers you encounter.  Everyone is different.  Everyone remembers different bits, everyone has their favourite moves, loves certain tracks and you will become the same.  If you are a leader, perhaps you notice that the followers seem to "get" certain leads and not others.  Ask your partners for their help in making your lead stronger (or even weaker in some instances).  If you are a follower, watch the leader's eyes, feel their hands, fingers or whatever they are using to lead you. Become a student and a teacher simultaneously. Learn and teach your partners if they want.

London Salsa is your first stop to having a great salsa journey.  Just look through all the lessons, events, band nights, parties, courses, holidays and workshops.  Take one lesson a week or go on a 3-hour or half day course to perfect that element of your dance.

Whatever you do, smile and help others to have fun.
