The London Salsa newsletter reaches dancers in many countries so we are aware that the pandemic is still affecting many friends. However, in London, salsa is definitely coming back to it's home in Europe.
Indeed, I have not seen as many smiling faces for many moons.Hopefully each reader gets that welling feeling of joy as you approach a venue, the strains of a favourite track drifting in the air, the sight of old friends, the rush to pop on dance shoes, willing partners equally thrilled by expectation of the perfect dance.
From personal experience, previously regular dancers shouldn't expect to have the same level of dance fitness. It wasn't only me taking a break. I challenge anyone to say that 2-3 hours dancing salsa isn't a really good workout.
For those thinking of taking up salsa or initiated by online lessons and courses, you are about to discover a social world of friends, an activity to keep your heart pumping and your cheeks aching from smiling.
This newsletter concentratres on real life salsa events but you can find others and online activities listed on www.londonsalsa.co.uk.
