Welcome back regulars to our weekly newsletter and, of course, greetings to new members. September is a time when many people take up our salsa passion, partially prompted by Strictly that starts this Saturday. 

It doesn't really matter whether you found salsa because of Strictly, you were looking for new friends or for a fun, healthy activity, London Salsa, as a community, is here to guide. The teachers and party promoters add their own listings, so you know the information is accurate. When searching for your salsa fix, you'll see when it was last checked : look out for the starred listings that come with a special offer for you.

You should log back in often, as new opportunities to dance appear on a daily basis. There are 100s of lessons to choose from, brand new courses, chances to audition to join a performance team, party nights, fiestas, live bands, weekenders and holidays.

Here is your taster for the week:

For Friday, the Putney salsa and bachata club offer first time beginners a free session. There are classes for all levels that are followed by a social, shows this week and DJ Salseando.

Que Rico, with Miguel and Mayana, in Balham is a monthly 2-roomed salsa/bachata club that offers lessons whilst the party continues till 2am.

Each Saturday, at the original Bar Salsa in Charing Cross, an intensive beginners workshop is offered by StreetBeat. London Salsa members are invited to save £5 off advertised prices and welcome to take a repeat for free.

Saturday evening's entertainment includes  a Pexava Saturday social in Conway Hall, Holborn, where the floor is perfect for salsa dancing.  There are always plenty of experienced On1 and On2 dancers, shows and top DJs as well as gallons of fresh water and even orange wedges to send you home.

MinaQueenSalsa is the guest teacher at Salsa Fusion on Great Portland Street on Saturday, where the party continues in 2-rooms till late.

This Saturday is also the Criola monthly kizomba party in Chalk Farm, Camden.

Sunday afternoon, your salsa itch can be scratched in Ilford from 2-6pm with DJ Hughie.

In Central London, the Sunday X-Perience at Bar Salsa Soho is presented by Richard Marcel and Jose Luis whilst evergreen SOS, now based in Camden, has a perfect dance floor and fine dancers. Both, like many venues, will give you a discount when mentioning London Salsa.

Monday nights in Bar Salsa Temple combines the Kizomba Temple with the Latin lounge lounge, lessons with a party. There is a free intro session at 7pm.

Also on Monday, in Camden, Sam Sleek celebrates his birthday at FEST with lessons followed by a social. Quote London Salsa for £2 off.

Drop in salsa lessons abound each Tuesday across the capital, including Northfields (Ealing)and Salsa Temple.

I know it isn't London and not salsa but I promised a quick mention for the Argentine Beginners course with Tracies Latin Club in Southampton that starts this Tuesday.

Each Wednesday at Salsa Soho there is a free intro to salsa at 7pm, followed by lessons in salsa and bachata and a late night social.

If you fancy a change in pace, then why not visit Hampton where the live band, the 60s Allstars offer dance music, even if it isn't salsa.
