As you are reading this, it is fair to assume that you have survived the heady mixture of salsa parties, friends, family and office parties this festive season.

On New Year's Eve, one of the locals at my club stood up and shouted that it was time to get ready. At the stroke of midnight, she wanted every person in the club to be standing next to the one person who made their life worth living.

Well, it was kind of embarrassing. 
As the clock struck - the DJ was almost crushed to death..

It all starts again.
For many life doesn't begin again till next Monday or until the kids are back to school.
I, however, have lots of early new years early cheer that will blow away those blues and get you dancing not only in January but right the way through to next years holiday season.

Starting the weekend with lessons in bachata and salsa on Friday, Putney hasn't missed a single beat over the holidays and the social will be social.

Next week sees the return of most of London's top dance schools.

Monday at Bar Salsa Temple is a two-roomed affair with the Kizomba Temple and Latin Lounge, offering lessons and late night social dancing.

Wednesday is the start of the January 4-week salsa, kizomba, cha cha, mambo, Cuban Salsa and rueda courses in Paddington with Caramelo.

On Wednesday there are classes all over the capital, including Hammersmith, where there are 6 levels of class before the social and Soho, where there is a free intro to salsa before classes for all levels in salsa and bachata. Three levels of salsa are taught in Southall, followed by social dancing till midnight.

A new salsa beginners course also starts on Wednesday in Bounds Green, North London in the safe hands of Salsa with Sureka.

Four week courses in salsa, bachata and styling are offered in Paddington with Caramelo.
