I have been dancing salsa for 6 years now, and teaching for 2. My background, prior to discovering salsa was as a DJ, music producer and all round clubber. I currently run my own business doing everything from music composing, music track editing for dance shows, sound design for film and TV, iPhone apps, video editing, and anything creative and music-related.
Have a listen to some salsa practice music I made for teaching my students - It's over at www.salsapracticemusic.com. This music was used in the 2011 Salsa World Record attempt at Scala in London.
Coming to salsa dancing from a music background helped immensely with timing and creativity on the dance floor, and I like to instill this miusicality into my students. I teach because I love the music, and because I learn as much, if not more, from teaching others as I do from being taught myself. They say that if you want to truly understand something, you should teach someone else.
If you're a student looking for lessons, I teach private lessons as well as a weekly class in Wimbledon. Give me a call and we can talk about what level you're currently at, and how I can help you to take your dancing to the next level.
My website for lessons is www.privatesalsa.co.uk You can register there for a free consultation, where we can look at your individual goals and needs and devise a suitable programme for you. You can take the lessons as-and-when you can in a private, safe environment
If you're a performer, I can help prepare and deliver very high-end music mixes foryour show. If you're a teacher looking to take the next step into releasing your own products, I can help with that as well.
For music editing for shows, please see www.wimbledonsound.com On there you'll find my iPhone apps (DanceTime Deluxe, DanceTime Salsa etc) as well as my Salsa Practice Music EP which is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc, and some examples showcasing the work I've produced for my clients.
