Rating: Comment: Have had some great beginners' classes at Turnmills. The teacher Amanda is super! Also mostly there is a 50/50 mix of girls and boys so no need to bring a partner.

Rating: Comment: I wanted to update my earlier post. I still love Turnmills on a Tuesday. It remains friendly. Classes are good to intermediate level. Some people just turn up after the classes for a dance on a decent well air conditioned floor. Small on2 contingent take over one part of the floor so you really can get any kind of social dance you fancy. Mainly on1, both x-body and casino with the odd rueda popping up like a fairy circle. It's the only venue I know where you can see rueda and NY on2 danced side by side.

Rating: Comment: Maybe this club improves later on, but I was there at 8:30pm, about 10 dancers taking a lesson... maybe it was the football.

Rating: Comment: Beginner?s class - comfortably easy
Intermediate class - pitched at a good level - shines are used as a warm up ? no separate break down for things like a full flare (but I expect they would if you asked after the lesson).
Tuition is competent ? tutors come around and check that you?re doing the moves and correct if necessary.
Dancers were friendly and competent on the night.
Cloakroom is 3 quid for two items ? people leave coats and bags by the dance floor.
Club decor is errr? unusual ? looks like the designer had an extreme studded leather fetish - just check out the sculpture over the bar.

Rating: Comment: I love Turnmills on a Tuesday, it's fun and not cliquey, beginners are really looked after and more advanced dancers have room to strut their stuff.

Rating: Comment: Really enjoy the classes here - informal and fun atmosphere and the teachers are around afterwards for dancing and tips. DJ is good and the live music nights once a month are great fun.

Rating: Comment: The great thing about Turnmills is that you don't just have one style of Salsa taught, and you can switch instructors from week to week. Club afetr the classes is great. DJ gives the dancers what they want and the floor is always full. It's a large well air conditioned venue so it never feels cramped. Really friendly crowd of people, you'll feel like a regular in about 10 mins flat.
