yeah i think central london is pretty safe. but id watch out for pickpockets and stuff. i heard that you get some well dodgy people on night buses. Anyone else?
Central London is fine a long as you take sensible precautions. Bar Salsa has a cloakroom where I leave my stuff but I've noticed that people also dump bags and coats in a space between two seating booths just in front of the dance area - obviously that would be at your own risk. Night buses can be a bit dodgy - but I think that's true of any city.

There are big scenes here for everything from Colombian & Cuban salsa to NY Style on2 and most of the big mainstreamvenues will cater for everyone.
However, if you are after specifically X-body on1 & on2 then there are certain clubnights that are better suited for you than others. For example
MOnday Bar Salsa, 96 Chring Cross Rd
Wednesday Bar Salsa, 96 Charing Cross Rd
Friday Ealing Town Hall, Ealing Broadway
Sunday SOS, Royal National Hotel
The majority of these dancers dance (or at least attempt to) on1, but there is a sizeable scene of on2 dancers also. AT the end of the day it all depends upon where and when you are available to learn.
