Many may ask why August is the best time to learn salsa in London.
My answer is simple.
If your class has fewer students, then the teacher can concentrate a little more on you.

This week August courses start all over town whilst the drop in classes are good to start any week.
On London Salsa many of the promoters are making great offers. Have a look through, if not for a party for yourself, then to find some beginners lessons for friends who deserve to share the enjoyment that we glean from our couple of hours each week on the dance floor.

London gets lots of overseas visitors around this time of year, along with new local dancers looking in for the first time. Don’t be bashful. If you have taken the step to find a nights entertainment, then follow the local customs, which in this instance is just ask.

Yes, simply ask for a dance and mostly all of us will say yes. That is leaders asking followers and, of course, vice versa. Don’t necessarily expect a second yes as there are lots of partners to get round in an evening but you never know, a winning smile might just give you the edge. And don’t worry if you think you aren’t good enough for a partner, we are all at the classes to learn, meet people and that is why many venues offer an hour or two of social dancing after lessons.

In the heart of Balham on the first Friday of the month (1st August) Que Rico offers salsa dancers a late night party.

DJ Hughie is in Stratford for salsa on Friday and has gigs listed on LondonSalsa for Saturday in Stratford and Croydon on Sunday.

Sway Bar in Central London is the new home for Todo Latino each Tuesday.
Starting with a free intro to salsa, followed by lessons of all levels in salsa, bachata, cuban salsa & zouk followed by a late night party.

Metrolatina, the longest running salsa and Latin night each Wednesday at Bar Salsa in Soho have found a new home in Soho but this Wednesday is your final chance to say goodbye to the current venue with them so make the most of the lessons, the party and ambience, till it is no more.

Each weekend begins at Fuego Fridays in Camden with lots of lessons then a late night salsa, bachata, reggaeton & merengue party.
